When I opened my mind up to the
possibility of combining wood with antique metal in my chairs, I also thought this combination might have possibilities in
some of my other work. When my wife suggested that I make walking sticks, I found the perfect artistic outlet for that combination.
My walking sticks feature Red Maple staffs and are adorned with antique door knobs/handles, turned wooden pieces,
glass marbles, wooden tool handles, and a combination of antique and newer metal. For example, it would not be
unusual to find an antique faucet on one end of the staff and an antique hose spout at the other.
These
"environmentally-friendly transportation devices" are sure to be conversation pieces wherever your travels may take
you!
