While digging
through a pile of lumber at a local sawmill, I came across this unusual piece of maple with these odd inclusions in it.
When I asked the sawyer what I was looking at, he told me it was a piece of bark pocket maple. Out of the whole pile
of wood, only this one piece had this unusual feature.
Once back in my shop, I immediately knew that
something special had to be made out of this unique piece of wood. Featuring a curly maple shelf, this mirror is also
a great functional way to display your little treasures.
